I’ve always loved a gold accessory.
Many many years ago, I found myself suddenly lusting over gold bins in the Harrods Accessories floor. Thinking I should really know better, I hid my desire, never mentioning this heart pounding want in serious magazine trend meetings.
But In the wise words of Spandau Ballet “Gold, always believe in your soul”. I should of outed myself sooner, as it was apparent I wasn’t the only one with this love affair. Thanks to Jonathan Adler, Tom Dixon and many others I realised I was onto a good thing.
Gold still can verge on the edge of “ good taste”, too much can be blinding, the wrong tone can seem cheap and tacky.
However, this is why I love the trend for Gold planters; it elevates a simple cool and understated like a house plant, to an all singing all blinging attention grabbing accesory, while still maintaining its taste factor.
- create a home for a plant in an unexpected place
- a chic pot for a large plant
- small and simple
- go full out retro
- try the trend for only £6
- a future design classic
- easy on the eye
- one of my favourites
